"Package" instead of "Adobe Acrobat Document" for Linked PDF in ta

I am using OLE Object in the table to link the PDF file which is stored in an
sub-directory under the main directory of the database on my local computer.
The table used to show "Adobe Acrobat Document" for the linked PDF file so
that the file can be double clicked to open. But after a certain time (I
didn't know what I changed to my computer at that time), the property of
newly-linked PDF files changes to "Package" while the old-linked PDF files
still stay as "Adobe Acrobat Document". In the "Package" status, the PDF
files will not move with the main directory. That causes a problem because I
link the file on my local computer and then the whole directory of database
will move to a server. When I double-click the "Package" PDF file, it always
looks up in the absolute directory originally typed in.
I have searched in the website for all possible solution in vain. I don't
know it is due to some change of my ACCESS or my Window environment. Would
you please help me to figure it? Thanks a lot in advance.

If you check http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=pdf you'll see that
there are many products other than Adobe Acrobat that use the .pdf
extension. My guess would be that you installed something to do with
Microsoft SMS that caused the file association to get changed.

Try reinstalling Acrobat Reader (or see whether the "Detect and Repair"
option under the Help menu is sufficient)

Thanks Douglas. The problem was sorted out after I re-installed Acrobat
Reader.
The "Detect and Repair" couldn't solve the problem. Thank you so much for
your help!
