i have a question. i used toi have a dell. the mb fried
i had a new one built locally. they took my p4 processor
from the dell and put it in the new one. it has a 651m-
l/650gm-l series ms-7005 (v1.x) micro atx mb. the
guy set it up with hyperthreading on. i have kotor and it
has a little config checker. i run it and it says the p4
is only running at 1300 or 1.3. i understand this, cause
it makes my 2.6ghz split into a real and virtual. each
being 1.3ghz. so i figured, i'll just turn it off in
bios. i did. the device manger now shos it being one p4.
but the general info page shows it still split. and the
kotor config. still says its 1300. so how do i clear the
thing to make it show on the general info page and the
config in kotor that im running a 2.5ghz like it should
be? please help, my old dell never had hyperthreading
turned on and it flew. this things running kinda slow
compared to it. i have over a gig of memory in there as
well.

Kotor is a game, correct? Well it may be playing games with the
information that it reports.

Go into the BIOS setup for your motherboard and make sure that it is
configured correctly for you CPU. Hyperthreading should be enabled,
if the CPU supports it, and the clock speed should be the full rated
speed of the P4 (= 2.6 ghz).

It sounds as if the person that installed the motherboard did not set
the CPU clock and multiplier values correctly.

Note: Make sure you have any temperature monitoring alarms turned on,
just in case the CPU starts to overheat.

Good luck
