i could be totally wrong about all of this though. i have never used kiwi, so
i don't know what other conflicts could be going on. if kiwi is like all the
other p2ps out there, it probably has a little status bar thing saying
whether its connected to the global server or not (or just connected, not
necessarily to any sort of server). if you are connected, then its probably
not a conflict between kiwi and either norton or SP2. i doubt anyone here
would be able to help you (unless they know kiwi) and you should go kiwi's
site and try to get help off there. if it says it is not connected, then
first try to connect (probably in the file drop down menu). if that doesn't
work (which it probably won't; that was a sort of a just in case so you don't
have to do all this other stuff) then:

it sounds like either one or both of your firewalls aren't allowing kiwi to
connect to the internet. SP2 comes with a built in firewall and I'm assuming
you have a firewall is included with norton antivirus.

For SP2, you should make sure its allowing programs, and specifically kiwi,
access to the internet. to do this go to control panel -> security center and
click on "Manage security for: Windows Firewall". First, check to make sure
"don't allow exceptions" is NOT checked, then go under the exceptions tab and
add kiwi. that should take care of SP2.

i don't know anything about norton software, so i can't really help you with
it, but it probably has a list of programs that have access to the internet,
similar to SP2's exceptions list. if you play around with, youll probably be
able to figure it out. its also probably covered in norton's help files or in
the manuel (if you have one). so ya, i would try to figure out how to change
which programs have internet access and add kiwi to that list. ALSO, you need
to make sure norton is even allowing exceptions access (similar to the way
SP2 has the option to not allow anything access).

Are you referring to this? http://kiwimusic.sourceforge.net/ If so, it
appears to be music playing software only, and not a P2P app. Any
searching it does would be the searching of your hard drive for files it
can play.

Or did you mean another Kiwi player?
