Oytlook 2003 Rules Limitations

Richard

I have outlook 2003 SP3 running on an Exchange server (corporate use) running
on Windows XP Professional
To reduce email in my inbox, I created 10 rules with a total of 168 senders.
They only move emails to other folders and are very simply rules.
However, when I try to set them up so that they all run in Outlook, I
receive the following error message:

“One or more rules could not be uploaded to Exchange server and have been
deactivated. This could be because some of the parameters are not supported
or there is insufficient space to store all your rules.â€

The maximum number of rules I can have active seems to be three (3) with
only 58 senders. What can I do to increase the amount of space available for
my rules?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Exchange 2003 and older have a limitation of 32KB storage space. There is
little you can do, other than making the rules as small as possible.

Is there are reason you need rules rather than search folders?

The biggest reason I utilize rules is because I have limitations on the size
of my exchange mailbox, but manage dozens of projects simultaneously that
generate tons of emails a day. I need to be able to move the email from my
server-side inbox to multiple pst folders for review/storage when I can.

Search Folders are okay, but do not help me from an organizational
standpoint or mailbox size savings standpoint.

Outlook was great when client-side rules were actuallyu clientside rules.
Any possibility this feature will be returned back to this method?
