Windows XP Home

HP offered assistance for fixing a problem with the
keyboard, requiring the non destructive restore to be
perform. Unfortunately, this process created a new
account "owner876587" and associated personal directories.

Now that the system is operational, the original "owner"
directories including all the documents are
currently "locked", and can't be accessed.

Is there a simple way to tell the machine to use
the "owner" account (original) to access the directory?

Access from a network is denied, and I was unable to map
the directory using a different user.

Thanks for help

You will have made a new account for yourself. Log in with an account
that has administrative privileges. You will need to take ownership of
the previous account's files. Go to XP's Help & Support and enter "take
ownership" for exact instructions.
