"Owner" directory locked and new "Ownerxxxx" account created

Windows XP Home

HP offered assistance for fixing a problem with the
keyboard, requiring the non destructive restore to be
perform. Unfortunately, this process created a new
account "owner876587" and associated personal directories.

Now that the system is operational, the original "owner"
directories including all the documents are
currently "locked", and can't be accessed.

Is there a simple way to tell the machine to use
the "owner" account (original) to access the directory?

Access from a network is denied, and I was unable to map
the directory using a different user.

Thanks for help

Thanks for the info, will try to walk my Mom through the
change in the morning. Gotta love doing tech support 3000
miles from the machine. At least she doesnt think the CD
holder is for her coffee mug.

Will let you know how it goes.

There is alway remote desktop and also remote assistance
All you need is the IP at the time, and even over a dialup it is
usable, although slow.
