Oversized Data File

Hi there,
I am running XP w/OL 2003 web mail not exchange. Let me apologize in
advance if I ask silly questions.

My Data files show the following Files/ subfiles

Archive Folders:

My Hotmail - not available (using outlook connector)

I have run the inbox repair tool which I believe resulted in the multiple
hotmail & backup files.

Is it possible to delete all of these/ create the new file and not loose any
data? because the file sizes are all different, I am a bit nervous to just
start deleting the files.

Any detailed suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can see which pst-files are currently linked via File-> Data File
Management

The one for Hotmail is a bit trickier to see but the modified data should be
a good indication to which one is the current one.

The bak-files are indeed backup files. If you don't need them anymore, you
can safely delete them.

extend.dat should be kept but will automatically be recreated from registry
information if you happen to delete it though.

The mlog file is just a log-file

The nst-file is either from an old Lotus Notes connection that you had or
from a previous Outlook Connector. Look at the date to decide if you still
need it or not. Probably not.

Just move the files you want to delete to a temp folder on your Desktop. If
your not missing anything after a week and everything runs fine, you
probably made all the right decisions for your files and you can delete them
permanently ;-)
