After moving the contacts folder to a public folder and using the table view including the email field, we are not able to edit the email in the view but have to open the record to be able to edit it. We are able to edit the name, company, phone etc.

Is that a restirction and why. What do I have to do to be able to edit it in the table view?

Thanks very much.

Thank you Sue for guiding me on an earlier outlook issue.

The table view supports editing only of simple fields. The field you see is not a simple one. It is actually composed of three separate properties -- the address itself, the type of address, and the display name.

Therefore, you'll need to open each contact to edit the email address.

Thank you Sue for your response.
Is it possible to select the address itself field and place it in the view
so it can be edited in the view?

Thanks
