Outlook_Secure_Temp_Folder File

Suddenly, I have been unable to view images embedded in e-mails that others
send me.

In searching for solutions I read of the OutlookSecureTempFolder and
followed the instructions for creating a temporary folder under the Temporary
Internet Files folder (as in TemporaryInternetFiles/Content.Outlook/(6 to 8
randomly generated characters). I then rebooted the computer, confirmed the
presence of this newly-created temporary folder, then downloaded some more
e-mails and was STILL unable to view the images therein. I can view SOME of
the attachments but NONE of the embedded images.

I am using Outlook 2007 on a fairly new computer loaded with Vista.

While in Outlook 2007, I have made these choices:
1) under Tools, then Trust Center, then E-Mail Security, I have UN-checked
the four encryption choices at the top and have CHECKED the two script
choices at the bottom;
2) under Tools, then Trust Center, than Attachment Handling, I have checked
both the Reply With Changes as well as the Attachment and Document Pre-viewer;
3) under Tools, then Trust Center, then under Automatic Download, I have
Don't Download Pictures UN-checked;
4) under Tools, then Trust Center, then Programmatic Access, the three
choices that I have are, mysteriously, greyed out.

I have reviewed every single one of the choices under Tools, then Options,
and I can't think of a single thing that might cause images to be blocked.

Any ideas?

When some system settings "suddenly" change, then the easiest way to get
the previous functionality back is a System Restore to a date when all
still worked correctly.

I'd try office diagnostics first...

There is no need to create the securetemp folder - outlook will not use it,
it'll create its own.

OK. Here's that thread you referenced. What exactly do you see instead of
seeing the embedded images? Have you tried starting Outlook in safe mode?
Have you made sure your antivirus program does not scan mail? (You should
uninstall it and reinstall it without any mail scanning feature.)
