Outlook 2007 can't download images under Windows 7

I have been using Outlook 2007 for quite some time now. I was running it
under Windows XP Professional, then Vista Home Premium. A couple of days ago,
I received my Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade disks. After successfully
upgrading my OS to Windows 7, everything is working perfectly with the
exception of Outlook.

I can no longer view images in the reading pane of Outlook. When I
right-click the red "X", the only option I get is "Copy".

I have gone into Tools->Trust Center and unchecked the "Don't download..."
box, and restarted Outlook. Still no images.

HELP!!!!!

Which method of transferring your (Outlook) data and settings from your old
computer did you use?
Or did you reconfigure everything by hand?

In general you'd fix the "Red X" by emptying your SecureTemp folder for
Outlook.

Thanks for the reply. I had Office 2007 installed on my laptop (running
Vista) prior to upgrading, and I did an in-place upgrade of the OS.

I thought maybe there was something about Windows 7 that may now be blocking
http traffic in Outlook.

I'll give emptying SecureTemp a try to see if that helps, otherwise I'll be
back here again...

Thanks so much for your prompt response! I navigated to the following key in
my registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->Microsoft->Office->12.0->Outlook->Security

There I found the key in question: OutlookSecureTempFolder, whose value is:

C:\Users\Brian\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.Outlook\IJVPAAF8\

However, no such path exists on my computer. The furthest along that path I
can get is to the Temporary Interney Files folder, but there was nothing
there.

Where do I go from here?

Yes it does, but Windows Explorer doesn't let you browse to it. Enter that
exact path into the Address field in Windows Explorer and click Go.

However, when I paste that into the address bar in Windows Explorer, I get a
dialog box popping up saying, "Windows can't find
"C:\Users\Brian\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.Outlook\IJVPAAF8\. Please check the spelling and try again."

So, I'm no further along than I was before. Any light you could shed on this
issue would be greatly appreciated.

Install a tool that will clean it for you.

I downloaded & ran the cleaner. When I clicked the "Clear Folder" button, a
dialog box opened saying, "Error: Could not delete all files." Then, when I
clicked the "Open Folder" button next to it, another box popped up saying,
"Error: Could not open the SecureTemp folder."

What is going on here?! This didn't start until I upgraded to Windows 7. Grr!

No problem at all. Simply remove the registry key and a new folder should be
created after your first opened attachment. OutlookTempCleaner will work
then as well.
