Outlook98 on Win XP

J

JD

Client set up: Win XP Pro OS. Outlook 98 e-mail client. MS
Proxy 2.0 client software.

Network set up: Win NT 4.0 domain. MS Proxy 2.0 for
clients' internet access. MS mail for internal e-mail
services. External e-mail services provided by ISP.

Symptoms: Client can send & recieve internal e-mail.
Client can recieve external e-mail. Client can not send
external e-mail. I've checked the server settings in OL98
and all is correct. Is there any other settings that need
to be checked in the OS or OL98.

I only have this one client with the problem. It is the
only XP Pro client on the network. Other clients use Win
9X or 2K, with OL98.

I hope this provides enough information & is clear. If
more information is needed, please ask. Thanks for any
help that can be given to resolve this issue.

Is the client properly authenticating to the outgoing server?
