outlook2007, can not receive or send mail

WHEN SENDING AND RECEIVING, A BOX POPS UP SAYING THAT THE CONNECTION TO THE
SERVER WAS INTERRUPTED & GIVES THIS ERROR # 0X800CCCOF
I have tried everything, can anyone help?

Here are a bunch of suggestions for you but first note that the exact and
complete text of the error message would help. That includes the server name,
server type,
port number, socket error code, SSL, etc.

Error 0x800ccc0d or 0x800ccc0f When Receiving and Sending E-Mail (talks
about Norton AntiVirus but applies to McAfee and others, too):

It is possible for a single message on the mail server to clog the download
process. And the fix is to delete that message on the mail server, typically
using the ISP's email web interface. Usually when this is the case, the
download will start and then always get stuck on the same message (e.g.
program says that there are 20 messages to download and it gets to number 6
and then stops).
