Outlook outlook2003 won't retrieve email

My outlook2003 will send email, but has stopped receiving it. I must sign on to yahoo in order to read received mail.

I get this message:
Errors have been detected in the file C:\DocumentsandSettings\User\LocalSettings\ApplicationData\Microsoft\Outlook\personal Folders(1).pst Quit Outlook and all mail-enabled applications, and then use the Inbox repair tool (Scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair errors in the file. I can't seem to make the repair tool work--can't even find "Scanpst.exe"--a search on that and on the c:\ file name turns up nothing.

Will re-installing outlook2003 trash my saved email which is in the mail boxes?

Do a search for files *.pst, *.pab and think *.wab. Save them in a 'backup folder'.

*.pst are your post folders and the other two are your address books.

You can also export your settings to the backup folder - 'file > import/export'
