Running XP and Outlook 2003. Can't send/receive Emails with Outlook (Error
code 0x80042108) but can with Outlook Express (settings are identical).
The log contains "FCheckFirstRunStatus failed reading machine value "17019"!
....deleting WAB4/UseOutlook because we're using MAPI. ...writing UUID to
HKCU. ...setting Primary Client to Outlook." The profile is set to POP3 not
Imapi.
Can anyone assist...thanks

I had allready tried that. Interesting discovery...if I start the PC in safe
mode with networking Outlook works fine but if I start it with all of the
start up items in MSCONFIG uticked it doesn't.

The error code you're seeing indicates that Outlook is unable to connect to
your POP3 server. Do you perhaps have a firewall or something else blocking
port 110 (which is the POP3 port)? The fact that it works when you start in
safe mode sounds like there is something on your system blocking that port.
