Outlook XP/2002 crash. Help with Cloudmark please

I have read the problems and resolutions about the current Outlook problems
with those using Cloudmark. I have that problem. Mybe I made a mistake by
trying to un-install cloudmark before I read the post on their forum. There
were 2 Cloudmarks to un-install. One un-installed normally, the other would
not. I keep getting messages about a problem with the Windows Installer
package. I have written tech support at Cloudmark and they tell me to read
their bulletin. I hope that some of you more experienced types can help this
old guy out. Thanks. Ken
 
After working on this problem all weekend, I finally tried the obvious,
renaming the SpamNet folder under Cloudmark. I did this so that Cloudmark
won't start when I open Outlook. THAT WORKED! Of course I don't have a spam
filter now.

I then tried to download the Cloudmark latest program and get the same
message that there is a problem with the Windows Installer Package. I have
tried using the instructions in Article 891985, but it has no affect. Also,
I get a blue Stop screen if I select SAFE mode for windows. I don't know if
this is all related or not.
