I have been using Outlook 2002 successfully for years to download mail from
my Yahoo mail pop3 mailbox. Just today I began to experience a problem.
When I do a send/receive the program logs onto the Yahoo mailbox and the
progress box indicates the number of messages being downloaded and gradually
the number of the message being downloaded increases up to the number of
messages waiting, but the messages do not appear in the inbox. After the
last message is supposedly downloaded I get the following error message:

"Task 'Yahoo - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The
operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server.
If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator
or Internet service provider (ISP).'"

I might think that this is a Yahoo mail problem, but when I open up Netscape
mail it downloads my Yahoo mail quickly and with no problem.

Also let me mention that Outlook has no problem downloading mail from the
pop3 mailbox of my ISP, but Outlook cannot download mail from my Netzero
pop3 account.

This is an update on the message below:

I just installed SP3 and the problem described below disappeared. I don't
know if there was any causal connection between these events, but for now I
no longer have this problem.

Go to http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net and download Yahoopops. Run it
before you start Outlook or Outlook Express. You will have to have set up
an account for Yahoo for this to work. Then send and receive and you will
receive your mail. It also deletes the mail from Yahoo. Works great.
