Outlook will not stay active

Activating Outlook only causes it to close. I cannot make it stay active.
An error report is available and has been sent to MS. This is the second day
for this. Yesterday I was able to find a message that said to "turn on"
security. I clicked OK and Outlook ran as usual. I cannot find that message
today. Can anyone help me, pls??

You need to post your version of Outlook, what you mean by "activating" as
well as how you do that, any error messages, your operating system and
anything else that's relevant. I assume you actually mean "opening" Outlook.
Product Activation is whole different subject.

Let me see:

1. No Outlook version posted.
2. Exact error message missing.
3. Vague description of issue using no known terms that help troubleshooting.

Nope, 3 strikes.

OUCH! Can you tell Im less than a novice??
Outlook 2002, OS is MS XP SP2; error msg lengthy; Outlook is opened via the
START menu. Problem solved with a RESTORE.
It appeared that the .pst file was missing but there was no way (that I
could tell) to create a new .pst file w/o having Outlook open.

Thanks for the input, Mary and Milly. If there is a next time, I will be
more specific.

Control Panel's Mail applet can do that.

Thanks, Bill. I guess it's doing ok now -- worked just fine today when I
signed in. Just hope it doesn't happen again :) I'm very pleased that you
and others helped me out --- first time to come here and now I have the
feeling that if I have other problems, I can come back. Better informed, of
course!
