outlook will not open a PST file

We are using outlook 2003. My user signed off one day and now her outlook
will not open the OUTLOOK.PST file. I have tried the SCANPST and it gives a
message that this is not an outlook file. Further we were getting an error
on outlook about the switch being wrong. I have not been able to get outlook
to open but still cannot get the file (over 73.000 MB) to open. Any
suggestions?

We are using Windows XP PRO OS on a domain with a windows 2000 server

If both Outlook and SCANPST say the file is not an Outlook Data File, then
it's likely that the file is toast. If the data is important enough, you
should invest in one of the third-party PST recovery tools. Start here:
