Outlook will not always shutdown completly. Window closes but wil.

after opening and closing Outlook several times it will then not open.

I open task manager and see that there are multiple outlook applications open.

Outlook appears to not be shutting down completely.

If I close those additional copies in task manager then it will open again.

How can this be corrected?

version of Outlook, mode if Outlook 2000 or 98, add-ins installed? Often
Active Sync can do this. Use Knockout to terminate the process if needed:
