Outlook, unable to pull up contact in a recurring appointment

In Outlook full version, you cannot pull up an attached contact in a
recurring appointment. i.e. you have a Dr's appt. come up, you open it to
call the person you have a meeting with, and the contact that you have
assocatied with the recurring appointment (series) is not accessible, you
can't pull it up.

This has to be a common problem that affects a lot of users.

I can understand the need to lock the ability to "add" a contact association
with a recurring appointment, however once a contact has been associated, you
should be able to at least pull up the contact name that the recurring
appointment is associated with.

While there is a work around, you can snooze the appointment alarm, open
Calendar, find the appointment, open it in the edit series mode, and open the
associated contact. However for busy people who book lots of appointments,
it needs to work simply, easily and quickly. Performing the additional steps
quickly becomes a sore point that serves as a sour point in the entire
Outlook user experience.
