Outlook toolbar buttons not working, menus not visible, NTBackup f

I installed Office 2007 beta, then removed it and install MS Office 2003
(SBE). When I start Outlook, the (default) toolbar buttons may work for 3 or
5 times, but then stop functioning. Sometimes the command highlights when
clicked, and a faint outline of the menu box can be seen - but there are no
commands listed - and the box is transparent. If I use Alt-key shortcuts
such as Alt-T / O (Tools/Options) I can get a highlighted Tools button but
the Options command does not work.

At other times, clicking on any of the toolbar buttons gets no response -
all the buttons are "dead"

I am thinking there are pieces of the 2007 Beta that are at fault, or
corrupted regresitry entries. I have 2 reinstalled Office 2003, and I even
reinstalled Win XP (SP-2). The latter was done because NTbackup no longer
functions. The program loads, is listed as a process in memory, but no
dialog box is ever presented.

Can any help to solve these 2 problems (Outlook buttons and NTBackup).

Thanks.

p.s. where can I get complete written instructions for removing Office 2007
beta, i.e., what registry entries and key to delete, etc.

Hi: I solved both my problems and pass along the solutions in case someone
else has such issues.

1) Outlook toolbar/startup issues: To correct, search for, and then delete,
the file OUTCMD.DAT in your Documents and Settings folder. This file holds
Outlook's toolbar settings, etc. Evidently, mine was corrupt (or used
Office 2007 format ?). On starting Outlook, I was always seeing garbage
characters in the Find box and also Outlook often failed to start without an
error. Now all is fine.

2) Ntbackup running as a process but GUI not starting: To correct this,
delete all the files in the folder: \system32\NTMSDATA which is located in
Windows' operating system folder (for me, the path is
C:\WINNT\system32\ntmsdata). Again, the issue was corrputed files.
Evidently, these files tell Ntbackup (and Windows?) about removable media
(DVD, CD, Tape). Before making this correction, the "Removable Media"
selection in "Manage Computer" would just hang when clicked. Deleting the
files in \system32\NTMSDATA also solved this issue.

Cheers
