"Outlook Today" as default folder on starting application

Why can't i get outlook to open to 'Outlook Today' (or the Calendar, come to that)?

I have selected the folder in advanced options and when I click OK, the apply button is 'greyed'
out. If I select other options from other panes the OK button is selectable, but neither O..Today or
the calender open as the default when I restart Outlook. Outlook always opens to the Inbox view.

Anyone know how to resolve this?

PS. I'm using Outlook 2002 (10.68....) SP3

Thnx in advance
Ivan.

Are you a home user or are you using Outlook in a corporate environment?
What type of account?

Ahh, ok. I use pop and imap (O2 and yahoo). These generally download messages ok, but as i say i
would like Outlook to Open at Outlook Today or the calendar veiw, neither of which happen.

I try to set these options in the preferences but the apply button is greyed out, making additional
selections or changes permits the apply button to be selected, but the changes to the opening view
do not take, the app always opens to the inbox.

Have you tried a new mail profile?

Thanks, checked out the url, also looked at the OL HF.
I created a new profile (didn't add any email providers), then went to options to try and configure
OL to open to OL Today and Calendar... No joy. Still opens to the inbox. Returned to original
profile.

What's next?

Hi Brian, I think I have resolved this issue. I went to
http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/resetview.htm
and deleted the link to Outlook in my start bar and from the Office directory I 'pinned to start
menu' the outlook icon. On first run it went straight to the calendar ;). I went to options and
selected Outlook Today, exited and quit, then launched Outlook again. Viola!! Outlook with Outlook
Today as the opening screen..

Thanks again for you help
Ivan
