Outlook Today - Folder not Accessable

I am using Outlook 2003 with VISTA to manage my email messages. I have rules
set to put incoming messages into specific folders depending on the email
address through which it is received.

One of the several folders under the "Messages" side of outlook today will
not open and an error message "Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Office
Outlook could not access the specified folder." Other folders work as
expected.

The same folder is accessable and opens as expected when it is selected from
the "Mail" folder listing in Outlook Today. I have looked at the propities of
each folder and there is no difference.

What do I need to do to allow the mail folder to be opened as it should?

Sounds like your Outlook Today page is pointing at an invalid folder, not the
folder you see in the Navigation Pane. See if it helps to customize Outlook
Today to first remove the malfunctioning folder reference (saving the change)
and then readd the pointer.

Thanks but I have tried that several times without success. Either I am doing
it wrong or a different approach needs to be taken.

Perhaps I don't know what you mean when you say this:

Are you referring to the section labeled "Messages" in the main pane of
Outlook Today, where "Calendar" and "Tasks" are also listed? If so, when you
click "Customize Outlook Today", how do you select the folder? Describe all
you see. What style have you chosen?
