Outlook startup takes forever

Problem Description: When Outlook 2007 starts there is a point where there is
a blank page that comes to the screen and waits. Then the office starts up
but as it completes the start up I get the blue button flashing orange at the
bottom of the desktop. I just removed and reinstalled the Office program but
to no avail the same is occurring. I thought I would go to the "help" and see
if updates were available. When I did this the Explorrer said it could not
display page after refreshing several times it finally displayed but after
checking my computer came back with "no updates" but an apology and that is
how I got to this page after trying to get help from Customer service. I am
having some real troubles lately I even tried Windows Messenger and can't get
in. I tried to unistall with the intent of reinstalling but that wouldn't let
me remove nor download a new messenger. I asked for assistance for this as
well and received a note back but have not heard ffrom anyone since. Any
ideas?

Outlook and Office updates are pushed out via MS Update, which you can run
from Win or IE
Uninstalling / reinstalling outlook rarely cures a configeration problem
Hold down the Cntrl Key when starting Outlook, any better?
