Outlook shutting down every 5 minutes; should I reinstall?

My Outlook (Microsoft Office 2000 Professional Version
running on XP) keeps shutting down every 5 minutes
after "encountering an unexpected error." I works, it is
just frustrating. Should I just reinstall it? If so,
how do I keep from losing all of the emails in my inbox
and other saved emails in various folders? Thanks so
much!
