Outlook shuts down

I am running Outlook 2000 Standard Edition on a computer that has Windows XP Home Edition operating system. I have been running this for about 1-1/2 years without a problem. About 2 months ago Outlook comes up with an error message about 30 seconds after I receive an e-mail. The error says, " Outlook has encoutered a promblem and must shut down". This happens contunually whenever I receive an e-mail. Can anyone help with this?

Have you run Detect and Repair? How big is your .pst file?

I have run Detect and Repair and checked the size of my .pst file. Everything is ok. I have also tried reinstalling Office and XP, but the problem still persists. I am ready to swap computers with my home computer so this will not be such a big problem
