Outlook should let me set a rule to automatically expire messages

Expiration dates on messages are a great way to handle emails which are
importnat today, but will become clutter in the furture. A good example of
this is the long list of daily newletters I receive. I may want to reference
a story I recently read, but after a few weeks, it's stale. Also, travel
confirmations are useless after the trip.

I would like to see "Expire this message in XXX days" added to the list of
avaialble actions in the rules wizard.

Then, my autoarchive process can clean these messages out ("Delete expired
items").

Example: When I receive a message from "Weekly Cafeteria Calendar", Set this
message to expire in "7" days.

Thank you.

Can't you just set up a rule to send newletters to a different folder and set
the autoarchive settings for your 'newsletters' folder to delete in 7 days?
