Outlook Security Form

B

Brian Berkley

Our ERP system (Navision) has CRM contact interaction logging for email, and
uses a set of folders in the Public Folder Hierarchy for queue and storage.

When we first setup the contact interaction logging, I had to deploy the
Outlook Security Form, and create an exception list for the Administrator
and the email logging user.

It worked fine for 18 months, and now doesn't work at all. I cannot create
an exception list form with the Administrator account listed, or I get an
"Operation Failed" message when prompted for the credentials upon saving the
form.

I did not have OWA enabled at the time it was originally setup, that is the
only thing different in my Exchange environment that I can think of.

What version of Outlook?

Outlook 2000, 2002, or 2003.

Exchange 2000.

All security configuration done from Windows 2000 server machine with
Outlook 2000.

The Administrator cannot be used in the form or I get the "operation failed"
message.

The application uses CDO to log emails in the queue folder and move them to
the storage folder.

This is very frustrating.

You might try clearing the forms cache.

I've already done that.

I'd try doing the administration from a different machine. If you use one with Outlook 2003 installed, use a mail profile that does not connect with Cached Exchange mode.
