Outlook says it's not closing properly

Hi
I have Outlook 2002 with SP3 and it has a very irritating fault. I close it
down as normal, ALT-F4 or click on the cross, but when I start it up again
it says it's checking archive folder and public folders because it failed to
close properly.

I have tried "Detect and Repair" but it makes no difference.

Could someone pls advise how to stop it doing this?
