Outlook rules leaving a copy in original folder

I have microsoft outlook 2003. I use it to check my gmail account. I have a
rule set up to move the mail that comes in from the gmail folder to an
seperate folder I have set up. Outlook moves the mail to the folder,but the
only problem is that outlook leaves the original copy in the outlook inbox,
leaving me with two copies of the e-mail.

Did you include the "stop processing more rules" action? You should.
