Outlook rereceives mails frequently

Outlook 2k3, running with spam bayes, outlooks own junk mail filtering
and Norton AV - can't think of anything else relevant.

My spam filtering works great with this set up except that occasionally
Outlook gets obsessed with a mail - in the last few weeks since I
rebuilt this machine form scratch it has happened to several mails.
Although the mails in question were received a long time ago and
deleted form my ISP's pop box they are received again and again and
dumped into my mail folder always with the orgiginal message ID's and times.
So over a period of a day, I get >300 of these three mails in my junk
folder. It appears that the problem occurs most frquently (perhaps always??)
with mails in which I am in the BCC list

I have turned off Spam Bayes and it makes no difference- and I really
can't quite see how it can be a rules issue in Outlook (I do have an
extensive set of rules) but maybe it is. I have looked at them
Could be Norton I suppose..

Any thoughts?

It's never a good idea to scan incoming mail with an AV product because it
can mess up the data transmission. It doesn't protect you any better than
the normal on-access scanner does.

Well there is an argument that can run and run and run and run and
run....:(as can Norton vs Macafee vs Sophos vs Trend vs AVG vs vs etc
etc ) -))))

Actually I have tried turning off email scanning and it made no differnce to
the problem
