Outlook replies are not using default account

I'm using Outlook 2003 and in some, but not all, cases, when I reply to a
message, the reply does not use my default account. The account it uses is
the only account for which I have a signature set up, if that makes a
difference. It seems to happen pretty much at random but it also seems to be
consistent for any given correspondent. e.g., whenever I reply to an e-mail
from from my wife's work account, it uses the non-default account.

Any ideas why??

Thanks,
Larry

When you reply, Outlook should be using the account that received the
original message. Does this not happen?

I am having this exact same problem on my step-mom's computer. It's
driving me nuts. All replies want to use the same account to reply.
it's not the default account, and it's not the account that the e-mail
was sent to. I can change the default e-mail account, I can do all
kinds of things, but I can't make the messages (any I try) send via
the correct account, they all want to go out the via the same wrong
account.

No, it's not using the account that received the original message either.
It's using the (only) account that I have set up with a signature, but it's
not consistent.

Do the multiple accounts you have defined reference different mailboxes on
the server (i.e., do they each use distinct usernames/passwords to access
the server)?
