Outlook.pst is in use

After upgrading from Outlook XP to 2003, I cannot open my Inbox or send via
either of my POP3 accounts. I get the message "unable to display the
folder..... the file c:\----\Outlook\outlook.pst is in use. Close any
application that is using this file, and then try again." FYI only have
Outlook 2003 opened once and this still happens....
