Outlook.pst and Data File Management

Caseroo

Dear Forum Members:

I installed and setup my Outlook originally as Administrator, subsequently I
created a User for myself (Casey) with Administrator rights. When I logged on
as Casey and started Outlook only my most recent emails came into Outlook
Inbox (some emails were left behind in the Administrator account). How can I
grab the emails that were left behind in the Administrator Outlook Profile
and import those emails into Casey Profile ?

Please help.

Thanks, Caseroo

Open the PST from the Administrator's profile using the File menu > Open >
Outlook Data File. Drag/Drop the items into your current PST's folders. Make
sure you have the viewing of hidden folders on since PSTs are typically
downstream from a hidden folder.

The operating system determines the file location for the default storage
file for Outlook.

You will have to enable viewing of hidden files and folders and disable
hiding of known file extensions as well.

For Windows XP, Look here:

C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\ for the Oulook.pst file, where [User Name] is the
user name that you used originally to receive the emails under.

For Windows Vista, Look here:

C:\Users\[User Name]\App Data\Local\Microsoft\Outlook for the Outlook.pst
file, where [User Name] is the user name that you used originally to receive
the emails under.

I don't have a Win 9x machine handy to tell you where to look there, so I'm
hoping you have one of these OS's.

Good luck!
