Outlook over RPC not joined to the domain

I have been reading on the forums here and still can't seem to get this to
work. I have exchange 2003 SP1 and RPC is configured it works great for
people who are joined with the domain and they can access their mail outside
of the network over the internet just fine.

I would like to setup my home PC with outlook via RPC without it being
joined to the domain. It is running XP pro SP2 and outlook 2003 SP2. I took
the advice on this forum and created a mail profile then did not check name
and clicked more settings. Then configured the RPC options the same way I do
on all the other laptops that are using this.

My home PC is hooked up to a linksys router which then connects to a cable
modem. I have my PC on the DMZ and I also forwarded port 25 and 443 just in
case. After all this is setup I run outlook and put in my login information.
In the Server connection status it just keeps trying to connect and gets
disconnected.

If anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated. I check my
email from home with OWA but I timeout and therefore don't check it very
often. If I could have outlook connected though and just leave it up I would
be able to respond to emails very quickly from home.

Thanks,
