outlook.ost is not an offline folder file

When I try to open Outlook I get a message that says:

"Unable to open your default e-mail folders. The file ...\outlook.ost is not
an offiline folder file."

I'm not sure why it's trying to connect/open offline. How do I get out of
offline mode? Has anyone else seen this message.

You didn't mention if you where trying to work with a POP3/IMAP account or
Exchange, but in any event, you can use the mail applet in the control panel
to define a new mail profile and delete the old one.
