Outlook only collecting emails when it's opened/closed

Hi

wondered if anyone's had similar problems to this or can shed any light on
it

got an imap server, with around 50 outlook xp clients,

outlook is set to send and recieve once a min, but on occasions outlook
wont recieve any new emails until you close and open it. this can mean
for people who have outlook open all day they dont get any emails, until
the next day when they open up outlook again.

i'm going to recreate new outlook profiles to see if that helps, anyone
else have any ideas or seen anything similar?

thanks

Chris

Once connected to an IMAP server the connection should remain active for
quite some time - until the server drops it or you sign out.
What happens if you select eh IMAP Inbox and choose File | Connect to ....
Usually, all you need to do is select the Inbox.

the server doesn't drop the connection at all, i can see people connected
ok, it seems to be outlook thats having issues

i'll get someone to try that next time they have a problem, i have heard
people say that if they change folders then the inbox seems to update ok

altho most of the users have no problems at all

Try lengthening the send/receive interval to five or ten minutes. One
minute is way to short.
