outlook note won't save

I often get an error message that says:
"the messaging interface has returned an unknown error."
and then it recommends that I restart Outlook. This does
not fix the problem. The only fix is a restart. has anyone
found a work around to this. I didn't see anything in the
knowledge data base. thanks.
 
which version of Outlook and what service pack level are you at?

any other email clients installed?

The first step is to ensure the latest service pack is installed.

outlook 2002 sp3

no other email clients.

it doesn't do it every time but once it stops saving then I would have to
reboot to get outlook to save a note. the error message says to restart
outlook which I've done many times but it doesn't help.
