Outlook Not Sending Properly--HELP

T

Ted S

Lately, I send emails and they will sit in the Outbox. Nothing goes out. If I
turn off Outlook, wait a few seconds, and reopen it, the emails are then
sent. One other curiosity is that even if there is not an outgoing email,
when it performs its send and receive function, it will tell me it is trying
to send an email (1 of 1). Or if I go to send it email it will say sending 1
of 2. (always acting as if there is one additional email to send.

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN. I would appreciate email replies if possible at
(e-mail address removed).

Thank you.

If Outlook is sending emails but you don't see anything in the Outbox,
perhaps they are read receipts (which often get stuck):

If you still have trouble sending after you complete the above, please post
back and include the send/receive error that comes up after you enable
viewing the send/receive progress.

Hi and thanks. It is not that I do not see anything in the Outbox, but that
the messages stack up there and do not go out UNLESS I turn off Outlook
compeltely, and then start the program again. Does that makes sense?

If you watch the send/receive status progress until it's done, are there any
errors that come up when the emails aren't sent? Also, have you checked your
Application Event Viewer for any Outlook or Office-related errors? Did you
ever mention what version of Outlook you're using and what type of mail
account you have?

Some posts indicate there may be a certificate issue with Yahoo's servers
that can lead to this symptom, assuming that the account for which this is
happening is for your SBC address. Try disabling the checking for server
certificate revocation on the Advanced tab in Internet Explorer's Internet
Options.

Ask here, get an answer here. Never post a real mail address in a newsgroup
unless you're prepared for the attacks you'll receive.
