Outlook Locks up when I close MSN instant messenger First, Why?

I use Instant Messenger to stay in touch with the kids and family during my
work day. If I were to log off that first and exit out of the program it
locks up my Outlook express when I try to shut that down and log off the
computer for the day. Is there any reason why? I didn't use to have this
problem until there was some update I bet that I downloaded and installed for
either the messenger or for outlook. I just want to know if there is company
out there or not I guess.
