Starting outlook express starts AOL instant messenger

As of today when I start Outlook express AOL instant messenger also starts.
I hd removed AOL monthe ago using add/remove programs w=and was very suprised
when it started today. Is anyone having the same issue? is there a way to
stop it? I have XP service pack2, OE ver 6.00.2900.2180.

Try posting this in an Outlook Express news group - this is not one of them.
Outlook is a part of Microsoft Office and is what this group supports.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and has its own news groups.
