This is an odd one. Win98 desktop, Outlook 2000. When the user loads outlook,
everything starts ok. When they try to access anything within the in-box,
outlook freezes. ctr+alt+ del, just says outlook not responding. i have
de-installed and re-installed office 2000 and outlook by itself 3 times. I
re-installed 98 once. No change.

When i open outlook.exe /safe it appears without the preview pane, but the
user can open items in the inbox. I can read the users mail on any pc, so
the issue is not the mailbox/post office, i cannot read any other users mail
on the 98 pc.

thanks.

This can indicate that the problem is an Outlook add-in. Try removing them
and see if that helps.

unfortunately thats not the issue.. no add-ins installed.. something is
corrupted somewhere.. not sure where to look next.
