Outlook keeps polling for my username & PW on auto send/receive

I am running win 2K pro, and office 2003 pro. Office is an
upgrade from office 2000. I have my auto-check for
messages set to 1 minute and everytime outlook looks for
new messages automatically it askes for the network
password. I enter in and choose save UN & PW and it goes
through and either retrives the messages if there are any
there or sends no errors and completes its task. However
the next time (in 1 minute) it goes to poll for pessages
again it again asks for the PW in the prompt box.

I have checked with my ISP/email provider and everything
is good with mny settings and their service.

Also when I do a manual send/receive it works fine and
does not prompt me for my PW...

Anyone ever ran into this before?

Does it do this if you increase the time between polling, are you connecting
to a POP3 account as 1 minute polling could cause problems especially if you
are sent largish attachments or the mail server/bandwidth is busy.

Hi SP!

I've hit the same problem and thus far there's no solution in sight.

I've tried the registry changes suggested by Microsoft Knowledge base
but these don't work for me.

I'm trying to track down cause and solution.

Is this a recent occurrence with you?
Did this start last week?
Have you recently installed any Windows patches?
Who is your Service Provider?

I had thought it might be my service provider, but the polling is
taking place without any prior communication with the ISP.

Sympathies! It's a real annoyance.
