Problems logging into my work email with Vista Machine

I am having no success logging into my work email using IE.

I can get in fine on my win 98 machine and my win 2k machine.

But with the vista machine It askes for the UN and PW 3 times then denies
access.

I am putting in the correct UN and PW each time.

They are using Outlook Web Access on their end.

Got any ideas??

It's Web Mail access and you're going through a browser. I suggest that you
check with the people on the domain where you're trying to log into, because
I have no problem logging into Outlook Web Mail on client sites with Vista.

My machine is a Vista machine.

I do not know what is being run on the city's end.

Are there settings on my end that could/need to be changed to allow this to
happen? I can get in on my Win98 and Win2k machines with no problems.

No, the problem is on the server end. The City's IT Dept. needs to patch
their server.

You receive an error message when you try to perform any editing tasks, or
you must click to enable the compose frame in Outlook Web Access (Exchange
Server needs a patch for Vista workstations) -

That is the kind of info I need.

Before I go to the IT dept..........

Let me restate what is happening.
I pull up the login web screen, type in my UN and PW and it just keeps
asking for those 2 items 3 times then denies access.

From your description it sounded like you thought I was getting into but not
able to do anything when I get in there.

I just can't get into it to do anything at all.

Is you answer still the same after re-reading this??

thanks

It might not be exactly the same issue but my understanding is that the
server needs to be patched to work with Vista. However, I'm not expert by
any means in Outlook or the WebDAV stuff. If you want to do the legwork for
your IT people (and frankly, they are the ones who should be doing it but
you know your situation best), then post in either the Outlook newsgroup or
one of the server-oriented newsgroups. Here's a link to a list of all the
MS public newsgroups so you can find the right one(s). A simple crosspost
to two or three groups should cover it.
