Outlook is sending unauthorized emails

Help!!! It appears that every time OUtlook 2002 checks my email at one of my
POP servers it tries to send 3-4 emails that I never wrote. The emails don't
show in the outbox or sent items folder. I have current Norton AV running
and it doesn't detect a problem. Can anyone help?
