Outlook is sending messages to the wrong folders...

For example, I had a certain folder open and answered an email in that
folder. My "sent" messages immediately appeared in the folder I had open,
rather than in the "sent items" folder. Other similarly odd things are going
on, such as messages I get from regular senders all of a sudden ending up in
the "junk mail" folder, and so on. Is my Outlook program getting ready to
die on me?
 
No, outlook is not dying on you... on #1: Outlook has the ability to save
replies in the folder with the original, except when the message is in the
Inbox. Enable this option in Tools, Options, Preferences, Email Options,
Advanced Email options.

#2 - what version of outlook? Do you have the latest service packs?
