Outlook Inbox: How do I make a new message disappear?

When I delete a new messge, I want it to disappear and the next new message
automatically be highlighted, so I can either delete or open it. (I had this
capability, but losyt it when I had to "detect and reset" my Outlook program).

Tools>Options>E-mail Options. At the top, put what you want in the "After
moving or deleting an open item" drop-down.
