Outlook & html

I've set up an email in Outlook Express that I have on my server - the
recepient's email calls in the html from my web site.

However, some people have received the email in Outlook with a formatting
error; while images and layout are generally correct, one area of text is
shown with a grey background, on some PCs.

When forwarding this email the formatting problem is gone on some people's
Outlook. It's clearly the way recipient's PCs are reading the file - but I
cannot make out what setting might be causing this.

Any suggestions?

Note that this is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.

I originated the email in Outlook Expres as it allows source editing. The
subsequent problems all relate indeeed to Outlook. Sorry for not making that
clear - it's definitely Outlook (in the cases I mention, 2003)

Thanks, Andy

Without the HTML it is really hard to tell. Have you already validated your
HTML source code?

Through other online sources it apears to be the way that the "cell
background" is shown; while in some mailboxes it looks fine, in others the
background is grey. It's compounded when a recipient can forward it to
someone else to show it's wrong and the 2nd recipient can see the email fine!

The email pictures and text are all valid; viewed in a browser they work
fine.

Cheers
Andy
