hyperlinks not active after inserting html into outlook 2007

I have been inserting html files into the body of emails in outlook 2007 for a while. There are links within the body of the html. They are usually live so that the both I (before even sending the email)and the recipient can click on the links. For some reason the links are now now "live". I have tried to rest my web setting in IE, and playing with the setting of my outlook. Any ideas?

Are they live in the HTML file before you insert it? If so, is the html code
for hyperlinks missing or is the url prefixed with blocked:: ?

Yes, they are live before inserting into email. I do not know anything about code, so I'm not sure I know the answer to your questions. I realized that it may not have worked since the change to 2007. I was using 2003 until recently. I have heard that 2007 handles/renders html differently than 2003.

if you right click on a hyperlink in the compose mail window (no need to
select the full hyperlink, just click once in a word or phrase that should
be linked), do you see the edit hyperlink command?
