Running Office 2003, SP3 on year old HP. Outlook has been running no
problem. Last week, tried to start and wouldn't open. Got message "Outlook
has encountered a problem has to shut down." Tried to start in Safe mode,
also ran fix recommended by system - still won't open. No recent changes to
computer.

Any suggestions? Appreciate any help. Thanks

What is being logged to the Event Viewer?
Does it work in safe mode?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

We tried everything you suggested, and all appeared ok. However, we set up a
new profile, and copy pasted contacts, etc into the new profile and now we
can open it ok. We consider this closed for now. We just left the old
profile and use the new one. Thanks for your help.
